The Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) has revealed the association in collaboration with Kempinski Hotel in 2019 will open a Hall of Fame as part of its 70th-anniversary celebrations.
President of the association, Roland Affail Monney said the Hall of Fame to be built at Kempinski Hotel will honour journalists who have worked hard to develop the country.
Speaking at a Press Soiree organised for editors and senior journalists by the management of Kempinski Hotel, he said, “one thing that will make the 70th anniversary unique is the Hall Of fame.”

“We started talks with Kempinski last year and the project will be completed before August 2019."
General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel, Manish Nambiar, at the event, praised journalists for doing tremendously well despite the limited resources available to them.

Mr Nambiar explained that he and his team recognise the pressure under which journalists and other professionals work.
“We work 24/7, we’re always under crisis, we’re always under a lot of pressure, we have to deliver and sometimes things that we do are not always liked by everybody. This is the life of a hotelier and a journalist,” he pointed out.

Mr Nambiar stated he is committed to supporting media practitioners in diverse ways including the establishment of a Hall of Fame for journalists at Kempinski.
He pledged Kempinski’s support for all ideas that seek to promote the welfare of the Ghanaian journalists.

The News Editor for the Daily Guide Newspaper, A. R Gomda, Morning Show Host of Atinka FM, Ekourba Gyasi, Peace FM’s Kwame Sefa Kai and Atinka TV’s Bismark Brown are among journalist who embraced GJA’s Hall of Fame idea.

Mr Monney also assured management of Kempinski the celebrations of GJA’s 70th anniversary in 2019 will take place at the hotel.
“We have tasted your services and we’re inclined more than before to come back to continue the relationship,” he stated.
