Ghana Oil Company Limited, (GOIL), the largest indigenous Ghanaian oil marketing company, has been adjudged the Petroleum Company of the year, 2012 by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG).
The award was conferred on the company last Friday at the 24th National Marketing Performance Awards ceremony held at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra.
Commenting on the award, the Managing Director of GOIL, Mr. Patrick Akorli, noted that the rebranding of the company last year has paid off as evidenced by the award.
He said the retooling of GOIL’s retail outlets and the retraining of their service station staff have been key in making GOIL the preferred choice for the motoring public.
According to him, the company's retail outlets, which is the most critical of their operations have been a major contributor to winning the award.
“GOIL’s vision to be a world class provider of goods and services is on course and the motoring public will always remember that GOIL is Good Energy”, the GOIL Boss added.
The citation which accompanied the award reads: “Your rebranding in the year under consideration has given GOIL a new image in the oil industry with a new logo, visual outlook and image backed by positive attitude towards work. You have enjoyed massive support from customers culminating in an increased patronage of your brand, with overall result of 6 per cent growth over the past year of 5 per cent”.
“Your community support programs continue to positively effect and transform lives of beneficiary communities and your clients take due cognizance and highly rank you on that. These sterling performance have not gone unnoticed and thus the CIMG confers on Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), Petroleum Company of the year 2012”, the citation concluded.
