Two people are known to have died at Kwadaso Estate in the Ashanti Region following heavy rains Thursday night.
Seventy-four-year-old Adwoa Brempomaa and her 8-year-old grandson, Chris Adu Sarkodie were crushed by collapsing walls of their room at about 10: 30 p.m.
Residents say the area floods frequently due to siltation in gutters.
Son of the deceased woman is Alex Adu.

He told Nhyira News his efforts and that of Fire Service and Police personnel, could not save the two.
Some parts of Kumasi have been submerged after hours of torrential rains.
It comes after city authorities rolled out steps to address perennial flooding ahead of onset of the rains.
The plan seems have yielded little results since areas they tackled in the plan were flooded.
Dechemso near Kumasi is one of the affected areas.
The incident occurred a day after the drain between Buokrom and Dechemso was dredged.
Residents blame the contractors for the incident.
Affected individuals are mainly mechanics, whose shops have been destroyed.
Some who spoke to Nhyira FM say they have lost their livelihood after their shops were flooded.
Meanwhile, the KMA has been assessing the extent of damage.
Chief Executive, Osei Assibey Antwi, says efforts by the assembly must be complemented by residents.
"We as managers of Kumasi have taken the bull by the horn.. If you have realized our efforts, that is dredging of the waterways have helped reduce the flooding," he said.
He blames perennial flooding on bad habit of residents.
" The bad attitudes of the people are the causes of this problem. The littering in gutters and poor sanitation are the causes of the perennial flooding," he said.
