The man who was appointed by President John Mahama to fix the corruption that have attended operations at the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA) is leaving the Agency in pretty much the same turmoil he inherited it.
Kobby Acheampong after accusing the Head of Human Resource Selorm Attipoe on the Super Morning Show, Friday, caused his arrest shortly after he left the studios of Joy FM, Michaela Anderson reported.
The HR Head was handcuffed by three men in mufti and was escorted out of the offices of the Agency at about 11:15am, Friday .
No official reason for the arrest has been given but the outgoing National Coordinator Kobby Acheampong is accusing him of instigating some aggrieved workers against him.
Selorm Attipoe was not the only person arrested.
According to Michaela Anderson, the men later turned their anger on her colleague, an intern at Joy FM, assaulted him and bundled him into a car and sped off.
They accused the intern of taking pictures of the arrest, an accusation Michaela has denied.
Accusation
For an agency percieved to be corrupt and its former National Coordinator Abuga Pele being prosecuted for misappropriation of funds, many thought the appointment of a new National Coordinator in the person of Kobby Acheampong tasked to restructure the damaged institution.
But it appears the rot is far from over. Kobby Acheampong narrated to Joy FM, Friday an unqualified HR, Mr Attipoe smuggled 188 unqualified employees into GYEEDA and paid them a whopping amount of GHc892,000.
He claimed to have stopped the illegal payment to the employees, a move that strained relationship between him and Mr Attipoe.
Kobby Acheampong alleged the HR Director has since been instigating the workers against him and causing them to demonstrate unnecessarily.
One such demonstration happened yesterday with over 30 workers accusing Kobby Acheampong of trying to fill non-existent positions with cronies before he finally bows out.
But in an interview on Joy FM Kobby Acheampong denied the allegation against him.
While he was in the studios of Joy FM launching his attacks on the HR head, some of the aggrieved workers were busy plotting to lock up his office.
The workers told Joy News' Michaela Anderson, Acheampong had no business being at the Agency because he has been transferred.
One of the workers accused Acheampong of lobbying to have a lady, on national service to be upgraded to the position of Principal Secretary, a position she is not cut for and has no requisite qualification.
And when he refused to upgrade the secretary, Kobby Acheampong had him transferred to Wa in the Upper West Region, he alleged.
Just when the workers were speaking to Joy News the men in mufti came and arrested Mr Attipoe.
