Social activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has stated that he would be happy to take down the post in which he accused members of the Appointments Committee of Parliament of demanding money from ministerial nominees before their approval.
Speaking during his appearance before the Appointments Committee where he was summoned to prove his claim, he said, "I am happy to, as the conversation has indicated and clarity has been provided, I am happy to pull down the post " he told the committee.
In the first post, dated 24th January at 9:25 pm, Barker-Vormawor wrote: “So all the money the ministerial appointees are being asked to pay to the Appointments Committee just to get approved, are those ones not affected by the ORAL?”
The second post, on 25th January, which he has categorically denied, directly accused NDC members of the vetting committee of taking money from Mahama’s ministerial nominees before approving them. It read, “NDC members on the vetting committee take money from Mahama’s ministerial nominees before approving them. The Deputy Speaker must submit himself to ORAL.”

To address the matter, the Chairman of the Appointments Committee, Bernard Ahiafor instructed the Clerk of the Committee to formally invite Mr Barker-Vormawor to appear before the committee.
Speaking during the scheduled meeting today, Wednesday, January 29, where he offered an apology to the committee, he also reiterated that he didn't author the second post and will put out a disclaimer to that effect.
