Imani Ghana is fending off suggestions by a civil society group, SPREAD, that it is being hypocritical on issues regarding the STX housing project.
The Tamale-based group also accused IMANI GHANA of acting like an opposition party criticizing almost everything the government does.
Spokesperson for the group, B.Y. Alhassan told Joy News the government ought not be intimidated by such criticisms.
Alhassan said Imani’s approach of criticizing everything government, including programmes that are supposed to bring relief to Ghanaians, cannot help the nation’s development.Listen to B.Y. Alhassan.
But Executive Director of Imani Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe says the group's criticisms are uninformed and wondered where the group has been at all when Imani has been offering alternatives.
He said Imani believed housing was not the only area Ghana needed to invest as much as $1.5 billion when potable water remains a huge challenge for majority of the citizens.
