Managers of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital have intensified efforts to prevent the recurrence of a recent prolonged strike that threatened to cripple the health facility.
Hospital authorities have now instituted constant engagements with the workers to address all their concerns.
Consultants and junior doctors at the hospital recently embarked on a three-week strike to protest delay in the payment of allowances.
Chief Executive of the hospital, Professor Ohene Adjei told Joy News he is optimistic that the institutionalised measures would yield the desired results.
According to him, there is huge pressure on the hospital’s equipment and human resource which serves eight of the ten regions in the country.
He noted that usually, there may be one or two people who will not be "satisfied with whatever is happening but we are trying as much as possible to let the people know what happens and I hope they would understand the efforts that the management is putting in place to make sure the system runs smoothly.”
Professor Ohene Adjei, was speaking to Joy News in Accra after he received a dialysis machine from the Ghana Association of Bankers to improve health delivery at the hospital.
