Maverick politician, Kennedy Agyepong has revealed that the Auditor General’s report before Parliament, cited a well-known economist, Kwame Pianim, among several personalities as having received judgement debt.
Although he fell short of mentioning figures involved, he told host of Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem that Mr Pianim was paid in 2010.
He suspected that Mr Pianim benefited from the judgement debt because he praised President Atta Mills for being incorruptible.
Mr Agyapong, who is also the Member of Parliament for Assin North, mentioned one Araba Sam, named in the Auditor General’s report page 50, line 57 as also being paid a judgement debt.
The MP further stated that it would be unfair to arrest Chief State Attorney, Samuel Nerquaye-Tetteh, and rather leave Betty Mould Iddrisu under whose tenure as the Attorney General the infamous judgement debt of GH¢51 was won by businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome.
He wanted President Mills to also either arrest or dismiss Finance Minister, Dr Kwabena Duffuor.
He is again calling for the arrest of Deputy Attorney General Ebo Barton Odro for allegedly compromising his position leading to the award of the judgment debt, if Mills is really a crusader against corruption.
Mr Kennedy Agyapong further asked the government to explain roles played by Ekwow Awunoor and recommendations he gave to government in the Woyome scandal.
