Aide to ex-president Rawlings has abhorred a Searchlight Publication alleging that government has given the former first family three plush houses located at La Wireless.
Kofi Adams told Joy News’ Dzifa Bampoh that the publication is baseless and accused the newspaper and its Editor, Ken Korankye of “gaining notoriety for publishing falsehood” and challenged him to come up with evidence.
Asked if the former first family is considering legal suits against the paper, Mr Adams said they will give no credit to creditless newspapers.
He said the ex-president has not been given any such residence, adding that Rawlings is still residing in his usual place, with his wife, Mrs Rawlings staying at her mother’s.
Kofi Adams also accused the media of doing very little to check ‘wayward’ newspapers whose modus-operandi he said, cast the journalism profession in bad light.
But the Editor of the Searchlight newspaper believes in the sanctity of the story, saying, he stands by it.
He told Joy News, checks at the La Wireless residence where the ex-president is supposed to have been staying has security presence there.
Asked if he has any evidence to back his claims, the editor said he could not take pictures of the building due to the heavy police presence.
He dared the former first family to proceed to court if they feel hard done by the reportage.
