Kotoko and AshGold want their respective fixtures in this weekend's MTN FA Cup schedule postponed.
The Round of 16 games will be honoured across the country but due to the usage of their players by national teams, the two Premier League sides want their games rescheduled.
The teams have therefore petitioned the FA Cup organizing body to this effect, referencing Article 13 (4) of the GFA Regulations which states: “Where a club has contributed three (3) players or more to the National Team “A” or 5 or more players in any combination of the National Team ‘A’, U-23, U-20 or U-17 the club may request for postponement of its match and the postponed match shall be rescheduled by the GFA.”
Both teams have each contributed six players to either of the local Black Stars team destined for the Cosafa Cup in South Africa and/or the Black Meteors who play Congo Brazzaville this weekend in a qualifier.
