Kumasi Asante beat rivals Accra Hearts of Oak by a goal to nil at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, in their week two clash of the Ghana Premier League.
Seidu Bancey's stunning strike which found the back of the net in the first half, was enough to secure maximum three points for the porcupine warriors.
Hearts dominated play but failed to utilise the chances that came their way.
Kotoko has now moved to the summit of the table with six points f-r-om two games.
Head Coach of Kotoko, Mas-Ud Dramani has hinged Asante Kotoko's Premier League lone victory over Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday on tactical superiority.
He told GNA Sports in a post match that 'I must commend my players because they were tactical all through. We kept varying tactics and the game and it paid off.'
Dramani claims the scoreline was modest based on the output of his boys in the game Hearts largely dominated.
'The scoreline could have been more because we created a lot of decent chances and fortunately, Hearts was lucky not to have conceded any of those chances.'
The coach who rates his charges as favourites for the trophy which could be a treble in three seasons said of the future. 'We will continue to modify our game and step on it as we go'.
He said Kotoko planned to ride on good preparation every step of the way. 'Good preparation means without Michael Helegbe and Isssah Yakubu, we still won against Hearts today. We plan to take advantage of that games after the other.'
The victory is Kotoko's second in two games.
