President John Agyekum Kufuor on Thursday met with the Council of State behind closed doors at the Castle, Osu.
It was their first quarterly meeting for the year, a Constitutional requirement.
All those who attended the meeting were tight-lipped on the agenda.
Article 92 (1) of the 1992 Constitution makes it mandatory for the Council to meet to dispatch its business at least four times in a year.
The Head of State and the Council conferred at a time when the country is preparing for the celebration of an important landmark of its political history, 50 years of nationhood.
It is believed that the response of former President Jerry Rawlings to the invitation extended to him by President Kufuor through the Chairman of the Council and some eminent Ghanaian personalities in connection with the Golden Jubilee Celebration came up for discussion.
