The Black Stars failed to win any of their friendly games in America but coach Kwesi Appiah insists there were lots of positives from the tour.
Appiah called it a great exercise despite his men failing to grind out a positive result in the two games against the North American teams.
The first was a disappointing 1-0 reverse to a weakened Mexican side despite an impressive display. Mexico fielded players that were deemed not good enough to make the squad for the FIFA Confederations cup, which they finished fourth.
After which they were beaten 2-1 by a new-look USA team in East Hartford, Connecticut in their second and final friendly.
However, Appiah thinks the friendlies tested his charges ahead of the resumption of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
''These exercises gave other players the needed opportunity to justify their inclusion into the Black Stars. I have fair idea about five to seven players that I think we can add up to what we have,'' he said in a post-match interview.
''In a national team, we shouldn’t rely on a single player. I always believe that we have so many good players out there and it is about time we gave more players the opportunity and if they come and they are good, we add them to the team as backups for the regular players.
''A strong team is a team that has a strong bench so when we add some other good players to the regular once, it will help us build a strong national’’
Black Stars will resume camping in August for the qualifiers. Appiah's side found themselves in a not too good situation and must pick up maximum points available to secure qualification to Russia.
They will take on Congo in Ghana.
