The Lands Commission is expected to hold a news conference to state clearly the facts about some lands in Accra being claimed by some persons who say they are the true custodians. It comes days after the emergence of two families who are laying claim to several lands and the news conference by the Ga Dangme Council demanding a return of lands they say were originally taken over by government for public use but have since been privatized.President of the Ga Dangme Council, Professor Jonas Akpanglo Nartey says they would take action if the lands are not returned. He said the people were particularly concerned that in spite after promises by the governing National Democratic Congress that it would return all Ga lands to their original owners if they won the 2008 elections, they government had since reneged on that promise.
