Lawyers for Justin Kone Katinan, a key ally of former Ivoirian President Laurent Gbagbo, currently in detention in Ghana, have secured a habeas corpus order demanding the BNI to produce the ex-Ivorian cabinet minister in court and to justify his arrest.
He is currently in Bureau of National Investigations cells after his arrest over the weekend.
Government has declined comments after putting out a brief information that President John Mahama was seeking advice from the Attorney General on a request for his extradition to face prosecution for war crimes committed during Ivory Coast’s recent post-election violence.
His lawyer, Patrick Sogbodjor told Joy News he expects his client to be set free on Friday.
He believes all the legal processes would have been filed then.
