FirstBank Ghana recently held an enriching career development session for its staff members, bringing together employees from across the country to gain valuable insights into personal and professional growth.
The event, headlined by renowned talent coach Kessewaa Brown, focused on helping participants navigate the complexities of career advancement.
Madam Brown, known for her expertise in career coaching, led an engaging discussion on the key steps necessary for achieving both personal and professional success.
She stated the importance of understanding what drives personal growth and shared valuable tips on how professionals can sharpen their leadership skills.
Addressing a common challenge in the workplace, she spoke extensively about overcoming imposter syndrome and encouraging staff to lead with confidence.
“The lion is regarded as the king of the jungle, not because it is the biggest or fastest, but due to its unwavering presence and leadership,” Ms Brown explained.
“Similarly, overcoming imposter syndrome means trusting in your abilities and effectively communicating your value, even when self-doubt arises.”
Senior management also contributed to the session, offering perspectives on career growth within the banking sector.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank Ghana Victor Yaw Asante stressed the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving the bank’s objectives.
"Unity and teamwork are the foundation of our success. By working together, we can overcome challenges and achieve exceptional results. I encourage everyone to embrace these values as we push toward our goals," he said.
The event was part of FirstBank’s ongoing initiative to empower its workforce, ensuring employees are equipped to thrive in the competitive banking industry.
It also provided a platform for the bank's graduate trainees and talents to strategise on how they can contribute to the institution’s success as the year draws to a close.
