Dr. Gamel Nasser Adams, a lecturer at the University of Ghana has condemned the overthrow of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
According to Dr. Adams, the military coup that ousted Nkrumah marked the beginning of imperialism over Ghana’s resources.
He has therefore charged government to do more to awaking the spirits of Ghanaians in resisting the ideology of imperialism.
Dr. Adams was delivering a lecture in Accra to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the overthrow of the Nkrumah regime.
He said “the most potent weapon in the hands of imperialism is not the Tomahawk missiles, it’s not their nuclear missiles, it’s not their warships. The strongest weapon they have is the ignorance of its victim and when imperialism is challenged on this front, its reaction is unrestrained.”
He added that imperialism explains the hysterical response of the United States to the publication of Kwame Nkrumah’s book ‘Neo-colonialism: The Last Stage of Imperialism in October 1965.
