Police at Suntreso in Kumasi have arrested a 37-year old Liberian hairdresser, Esther Brown, for allegedly pouring hot water on her nephew at Patase.
Twenty-five year old Jona Tye suffered extensive bodily burns from the mid-section to the face after his mistress accused him of flouting her orders not to associate with her ex-husband.
He received initial treatment at the Suntreso Hospital and later at the Komfo Anokye Hospital.
Tye tells Nhyira Fm he had physically been abused many times by Brown before last Sunday when she poured hot water on him.
Ms. Brown refused to talk to the journalists at the police station, though she insists the incident was an accident in a struggle to escape rape attempt by Tye.
She claims the nephew is mentally deranged and had been making sexual advances to her.
