NDC Constituency Executives at Lower Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region have sworn to remove their Member of Parliament for daring to ‘insult’ President John Mills.Michael Teye Nyaunu had labeled President John Mills as a wayward driver leading the country into a ditch and called for his replacement. He was campaigning for Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings who is seeking to be elected as the party flag-bearer for the 2012 general elections.According to the MP, his support for Konadu is the collective decision of his constituents, some of whom he claimed followed him for the official launch of Mrs. Rawlings' campaign on Wednesday. But the constituency executives have not taken kindly to the criticisms by their MP.The angry executives told Joy FM’s Eastern Region correspondent Benjamin Tetteh, the MP has lost his legitimacy to represent the constituency.“What he is doing is an act of desperation” one of them said, adding his actions are borne out of sour grapes having been overlooked by the president for a ministerial appointment.“I think what our MP is doing is a view which will not send Lower Manya to any place. I can tell you that he is not going on the ticket of the NDC any more. We are not going to allow him to move an inch and represent Lower Manya,” another swore. They said he is worse than the accusations he peddled against the president.“The names that the MP is calling the president, the same names we have to call him here because for 16 years he has been a very bad driver. The bus did not only veer off the road but actually moved into the ditch and we are now trying to remove it from the ditch. When we are done we will repair it and change the driver,” one of them said.Story by Nathan Gadugah/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
