The Madina Police Command is investigating the circumstances that led to the alleged kidnapping of one Richard Koomson, a 24-year-old storekeeper by three unidentified persons on Tuesday, January 18.
The captives were driving an unregistered red Nissan Sentra vehicle.
Chief Superintendent of Police David Eklu, Madina Police Commander, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra on Thursday that Koomson was kidnapped around Pentecost Junction at Madina in Accra that leads to the Akatsi-Abor road.
He said occupants of the vehicle approached Koomson's store to buy a 51-inch Plasma Television, after which the victim assisted the driver to put the TV into the car.
Chief Superintendent Eklu said it was during the process that Koomson was kidnapped.
Koomson is five feet and seven inches tall and the last time he was seen, he was wearing a red and white striped "lacost" shirt on top of a pair of blue jeans trousers.
The District Police Commander appealed to the public to help the police in tracing Koomson for an attractive reward.
