President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Brigadier-General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono as the acting Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
Mr Tanye-Kulono, a distinguished military officer and legal professional, brings a wealth of experience in defense, leadership, and legal matters to the key role.
Currently serving as the Deputy Commandant of the National College of Defence Studies (NCDS) at Burma Camp, Accra, Brigadier-General Tanye-Kulono has earned a reputation for his exceptional service.
He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution from the George Washington School of Law, a Master of Management Studies from Osmania University in India, and a Master of Arts in International Affairs from the University of Ghana.
In addition, he was called to the Ghana Bar in 2015, further solidifying his expertise in the legal realm.
His extensive career also includes prestigious military training, with courses completed at esteemed institutions such as the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the United States Army Command and Staff College, and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre.
His military leadership roles have been critical, with positions including Chief Coordinator at NCDS, Assistant Commandant at the Training and Doctrine Command, and Deputy Director-General of Training at the Ghanaian Armed Forces Headquarters.
Brigadier-General Tanye-Kulono’s expertise also extends to peacekeeping operations. He has served as the Deputy Force Provost Marshall and Officer in Charge of Special Investigations at the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Headquarters.
His wealth of experience in counter-terrorism, strategic defence management, and operational training has significantly shaped military leadership and security strategy in Ghana and internationally.
The statement said his appointment as acting Director-General of the GPHA underscores his commitment to national service and his ability to manage and lead key sectors within the country.
