The Juaso Circuit Court has sentenced a farmer to two years imprisonment for threatening to kill a pastor whom he accused of instigating his wife to divorce him.
John Agodey Kudjo, 38, pleaded guilty to four counts of threat of death, causing unlawful harm, unlawful entry and stealing.
Police Chief Inspector Kippo Iddrisu Mahama, prosecuting told the court that the complainant in count one was a pastor of the Christ Foundation Ministry whilst the complainant in the remaining counts was a farmer, all of whom were resident of Atwedie near Juaso.
He said on February 21, this year, around 2200 hours, the complainant in count one was having church service with his congregation when the accused emerged armed with a single-barrel short gun and threatened to shoot the complainant leading to a pandemonium in the church hall.
According to the prosecutor, in the course of the pandemonium as the accused tried to spot the complainant, he was overpowered and disarmed by some members of the church who handed him over to the police.
Chief Inspector Mahama said the complainant in the other counts later detected that his room had been broken into and that his gun was missing.
He then reported to the Juaso police where he identified the gun in possession of accused as his.
