A Minister of State at the Interior Ministry, Nana Obiri Boahene has resolved to contest the Sunyani East Constituency seat with the sitting Member of Parliament, Mr J. H. Mensah.
Nana Boahene said his resolve was informed by a desire not once again disappoint the teaming supporters who had made persistent calls on him to contest the seat.
According to him, he had been prevailed upon a number of times to step down for the veteran politician, J. H. Mensah.
For him, stepping down again is not an option, because it would dent his credibility.
Nana Boahene told Joy News that he had no doubt he would win the seat because he had nursed it for a very long time.
Mr J. H. Mensah, who is the Chairman of the National Development Board has been the MP fro the area since 1996.
