Multi TV, one of the fastest growing television stations in Ghana and its accredited distributor, Somotex Ghana Limited have supported the 36th Edition of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) awards scheduled for July 2, at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Accra.
The two organizations are providing the Association with a total sponsorship of GHC32, 320 for the successful organization of the event.
The package includes GHC 30,000 worth of airtime from Multi TV for the promotion of the event on various programs to be developed by the station.
The two companies will also provide 16 digiboxes for selected award winners and complete installation for the Secretariat of the Association situated at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra.
Kenneth Ashigbey, Chief Operating Officer of Multi TV, said the support is part of the company’s commitment towards the development of sports in the country.
He expressed the hope that the support will help the Association to stage another successful award.
In all over 30 individuals and organizations will be decorated on the night by the Association for their excellent performance.
The top most awards for the night will be the Sports Personality of the Year, which will see Asamoah Gyan, Richard Kingson, Joseph Agbeko vying for the Sports Personality of the Year Award. Andre Ayew, Asamoah Gyan and Richard Kingson will also compete for the Footballer of the Year award.
The event will attract high profile personalities such as Minister of Youth and Sports, Clement Kofi Humado, Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and all stakeholders in sports.
