An NDC delegation of Ludwig Akpene Hlodze (National Youth Organiser), Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan (National Organiser) and Madam Magaret Chiravira (Deputy National Womens’ Organiser), attended the national rally of South Africa's ruling African National Congress [ANC] in Johannesburg, ahead of South Africa’s local level elections.
The rally which came off on Sunday May 15, 2011, was addressed by President Jacob Zuma, President of the Republic of South Africa and leader of the ruling party, the ANC Youth League President, Julius Malema and the President of the Women’s League.
South Africa went to the polls on May 18 to elect representatives at the local levels and the rally was organized to climax the electioneering campaign and to introduce contestants to the electorates.
Ludwig Akpene Hlodze, held discussions with his South African counterpart, Julius Malema, at which they both agreed to work together towards enhancing the fortunes of the youth front in their respective parties.
The delegation later met President Zuma to thank him for the invitation and delivered a message from President John Evans Atta Mills. President Zuma thanked the delegation for honouring the ANC’s invitation.
The National Youth Organizer was to continue from South Africa to Namibia to attend the African-China Young Leaders’ Forum which comes off from May 20 to May 23, 2011 in Windhoek.
