There has been another shooting incident in the Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi, leading to the death of the nephew of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, F.F Antoh.
Prince Opoku Antoh, 30 was shot at the Dark City Pub, a popular drinking spot in Dichemso by five men suspected to be armed robbers.
Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkoh reports the incident happened Sunday morning.
The men who were said to be on a robbery spree invaded the pub and demanded that all monies at the counter be handed over to them.
They also allegedly ordered that Antoh hand over his iphone to them, an order he resisted.
In the scuffle he was shot in the head at close range by one of the robbers after which they bolted.
Police have arrived at the scene of the incident but no arrests have yet been made.
The incident comes barely a week after two people were gunned down in Ashtown, Kumasi in what is suspected to be a retaliatory attack.
One Kwadwo Asamoah, popularly called Gauso was butchered and shot dead on Wednesday by armed assailants.
One other person was hit by a stray bullet.
Gauso was on the police wanted list for a similar attack on an NDC sympathiser, called Maphus in the heat of the 2012 General elections. Maphus survived the attack.
Erastus Donkoh said the recent spate of robberies have left the residents insecure.
Ashanti Region Police PRO DSP Mohammed Tanko told Joy News they suspect Wednesday's attack may be an act of reprisal for what happened in December.
They have begun investigations into the two separate incidents.
