Premier League champions, Accra Hearts of Oak will soon announce a new Chief Executive Officer to steer the affairs of the Club from the next football season.This follows the intention to install the incumbent CEO, Thomas Okine as the Gbese Mantse of the Ga State.Confirming the new arrangement to the GNA Sports, Mr Commodore Mensah, Board Chairman of the Club said that the installation of Okine as a traditional ruler calls for some changes in the management team.He said that it will be very difficult for Okine to combine his traditional duties and the challenges at the Club, hence the need for a new and capable person to step into his shoes.“It will be very proper that Tommy takes a bow now that the applause is loudest. Tommy will surely not be at the helm next season,” he insisted.According to Mr Mensah, the incumbent CEO has seen it all as he has been able to chalk some remarkable feats in both the domestic and continental scene for a long period.Mr Mensah disclosed that the Board will meet to discuss on the way forward for the Club whilst also considering the successor to Okine.Though tightlipped on who succeeds Mr Okine, indications are that the new CEO might come from the 24-member Board of Directors of the Club.He said the Board has some time to decide on the next CEO, whom he said would perfectly fill the vacuum created by the departure of Okine.Tommy Okine would however still remain the head of the Management until a successor is named.The Board Chairman debunked reports that the incumbent CEO bid farewell to the Club following his absence at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium last Sunday, explaining that Okine’s confinement is a traditional demand that forms part of his installation.“He will resurface very soon,” he assured.On the Club’s participation in the CAF Champions League, the CEO said the Club has from August till next year to prepare a formidable squad for the competition.It would be recalled that Okine took over from Harry Zakkour as the CEO of the Club in 2001 and during his six years reign, he won four league titles and the CAF Confederation Cup for the Club.Source: GNA
