An NPP Activist, Florence Frempong has appealed to the security agencies to give proper protection to Mrs Justice Henrietta Abban, the High Court judge who jailed Tsatsu Tsikata five years for causing financial loss to the state.
Addressing a rally organised at Mpraeso as part of Mrs Akufo-Addo's campaign tour in the Eastern Region to canvass for votes for Nana Akufo-Addo, the NPP flagbearer, Mrs Frempong recalled what happened to Mrs Justice Koranteng Addow and two other Appeal Court judges and an Army Officer.
She said Mrs Koranteng Addow, then nursing a four month baby was abducted alongside the men, shot dead in the bush and their bodies set ablaze.
Mrs Frempong said it has become necessary to protect Mrs Justice Abban, explaining that she has since the judgment in the Tsikata case received many death threats on her mobile phone.
She said many people have also come out openly to condemn the judgment, and also incited the public against her.
She said some of those who planned the gruesome murder are still alive, and there is no guarantee that they would not strike again, declaring "Mrs Abban's life is threatened and she must be well protected”.
Mrs Frempong said the youth need to know this to enable them make an inform choice in the December polls.
