Hon. Olugbenga Otenuga, Commissioner for Youth and Sports in the Ogun State of Nigeria has accepted to speak at the forthcoming 4th Accra Biennial Sports Expo 2012 scheduled for Accra from Tuesday, 15th to Friday, 18th May 2012 at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Accra.
The reputed youth and political leader in Ijebu-Ode Local Government area of Ogun State, Nigeria will speak on ‘The Youth: Centrepiece of West Africa’s Sports Rejuvenation’. He will also deliver a solidarity message at the opening ceremony of the conference, while participating in some group discussions on other topics.
The Sports Expo being organized by RICS Consult Limited, Ghana’s foremost sports business consultancy firm is under the theme: ‘Promoting Africa’s Talents Globally: Role of Sports Business’.
The Expo will focus on ways of leveraging all facets of sports business principles and practices to develop and globally promote Africa’s Sports Talents while the Expo Conference will seek to reach consensus on a designed roadmap to assist African nations, governments, sports policy-makers, administrators and performers rethink sports as an emerging industry and its attendant benefits to grow African economies.
The fifty-six- year- old professional accountant, accomplished businessman, Youth Leader and sports enthusiast is also a product of Ogun State Polytechnic (now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic).
Hon. Gbenga Otenuga‘s professional career has seen him in various positions in accounting at Chevron Texaco, Nigeria, Lagos; Auditing at Peat Marwick; and Ogunde & Co, firm of Chartered accountants where showcased his prowess in clients system’s designs, tax management & auditing [1985-87].
In Advertising / Public Relations, he was the Finance Administration Director [late 80s] at Broadway Communications Lagos, before setting up his own reputable industrial printing uniforms company in 1992.
Presently, Hon. Otenuga, who will lead his State’s delegation to participate in the Sports Expo, superintends over youth and sports issues of Nigeria’s Ogun State which has the largest concentration of world class sports facilities.
