Streets in the Western Region have been adorned in colours of the ruling National Democratic Congress as the region gears up for a four day visit by President John Mills. Flags and banners have been hoisted on all street lights in the major streets in the city, Joy News’ correspondent Kweku Owusu Peprah can confirm. One of the banners was bold with the inscription “President Mills: we welcome you to the oil city; we support your Better Ghana Agenda,” he said. According to him the president is scheduled to commission a number of projects in the region, including an electrification project and will proceed to the Regional House of Chiefs where a discussion on the controversial ten percent of oil revenue for the Western Region is expected to come-up. The visit is part of a nationwide tour by the president to acquaint himself with the state of development projects in the country. He is expected back in Accra on Friday.
