President of the Ghana Paralympic Committee, Samson Deen has called on the government to increase investment in para sports to boost the country’s performance at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Ghana won three medals in the F57 Women's discus throw at this year's World Para Athletics in Morocco.
The team hopes to improve upon their performance at the upcoming global event.
According to Deen, with more government support, Ghana could compete at even higher levels and vie for medals among the world's best.
"I hope that they will put in so much effort. It is very expensive to manage para athletes. We go through a lot to take care of them," Deen said at the meeting with the press engagement.
"If government should invest now I can assure you, if we let our athletes stay in camp for the next three months top preparations, we will do much better in Paris and perhaps bring home at least a bronze medal for Ghana."
The 2024 Summer Paralympics is set to take place from August 28, to September 8 in France.
