The Kibi and Nsawam police in a joint operation on Friday impounded 399 kilogrammes of suspected cocaine in a vehicle with registration number GT 3359 Z, belonging to Evowe Logistics Company at Teshie in Accra.
Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nsawam, the Divisional Police Commander of Kibi, Chief Superintendent Owiredu Nkansah said the arrest of the suspected cocaine was effected following a tip-off.
He said the substance was being transported from Guinea via Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
According to him the three occupants of the vehicle, Kofi Amenu, 30, driver; Anani Kwabena 34; and Debli Kofi, 33 are in police custody assisting the Nsawam police in their investigations.
Chief Supt. Nkansah said the suspected cocaine has been sent to the Police CID Quarters in Accra for further investigations.Source: GNA
