The Rt. Rev. S. O. Achamfuo-Yeboah, Bishop of the Tema Methodist Church Diocese, has urged the church to preach peace and stability to serve as a unifying force.
He also urged Ghanaians to be productive by eschewing laziness in all forms adding that "I expect leaders to leave behind a legacy for the youth to emulate since they are the future leaders of the land."
Rev. Achamfuo-Yeboah was speaking during a special church service to launch the 10th anniversary of the Tema Diocese of the Methodist Church under the theme: "For we walk by faith, not by sight: confident conviction in Christ."
He urged Christians to do away with divisive tendencies and pursue those that would bring peace, love, unity and harmony in the family and society at large.
The Rt. Rev. Kwaku Asamoah Okyere, Chairman of the anniversary planning committee and superintendent of Ashaiman Methodist church in a goodwill message, thanked God for the growth of the diocese saying we now have 15 circuits instead of the original eight.
The Tema Diocese, which comprises 15 circuits has over 200 churches under it.
He also thanked members for their support in all forms and dedication and encouraged them to do more and never give up.
Some of the activities lined up for the celebration include floats and picnics, sod-cutting for the Bishop’s Manse and anniversary synod.
