Mr Okoh Adu-Obuobi, the Western Regional Commercial Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has said installation of prepaid meters at Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis was nearing completion.
He told the GNA in an interview that the company had installed over 100 prepaid meters at the MDAs in the metropolis since the programme started.
He said his outfit was, however, faced with the challenge of bulk-metering adding that it was slowing down the prepaid installation process.
Mr Obuobi said ECG was in the process of separating the bulk-metering at the various MDAs in the metropolis to enable it install separate meters for them.
He said some of the MDAs complained about lack of resources to purchase prepaid units since they depend on government treasury to secure funding which sometimes delays.
Mr Obuobi said installation of prepaid meters at the MDAs was going alongside public installation and it was expected to install over 54,000 meters.
