Some 246 pupils of the Abor R. C. Basic School in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region are appealing for support following a rain storm that ripped off the roof of their 12-unit classroom block.
The pupils will not have a secure classroom for studies if help does not come.
A class five pupil, a boy, who sustained some minor injuries at the forehead in the disaster has been treated and discharged from the Sacred Heart Hospital at Weme near Abor.
Some of the pupils who spoke to Joy News said they are traumatized.

“We are not happy because of what happened and we want the authorities to come to our aid” one of the students lamented
The affected pupils are currently having their lessons in the local chapel and under trees whilst others have been squeezed with other colleague pupils in other classrooms.
Some of the ripped off iron sheets and wooden materials of the school block also fell on some neighboring houses around the school causing a lot of inconvinience.
An Assistant Head teacher of the school, Alfred Glover lamented that the situation is negatively affecting teaching and learning in the school.

He appealed to government, non-governmental organizations, well wishers and the general public to urgently come to the aid of the school.
“The situation is very terrible as final year students who are preparing for their exams have no classroom to learn “Mr Glover said.
The Parish Priest in-charge of the area, Rev. Fr. Alexander Salakpi noted that the pupils have been traumatized by the disaster.
He hoped the powers that be would fix the problem as early as possible.

“We are pleading with the powers that be to come to our aid as early as possible to enable students to go back to the classroom” he said.
