The official launch of President John Evans Atta Mills' campaign for the NDC flagbearership slot could not be said to have generated anything new but, certainly, it was able to bring back to the NDC fold many ‘lost’ sons and daughters of the party. Dating back to over a decade, many were those who broke ranks with the party for one reason or the other, to form their own party, sit on the fence and even crossing carpets to the opposition. From 2000 to 2008 the NDC was kept in the 'wilderness' by the then New Patriotic Party government under former President John Agyekum Kufuor. During the eight years in opposition many of the notable names or big wigs who served in Mr Rawlings’ regime were conspicuously missing. In other words, they completely vanished from the radar of the media to, perhaps, mind their business. However, as the race for the NDC presidential slot heats up, many of the old-but-missing faces have bounced back, vigorously joining the campaign bid of President Mills. At the Kuku Hill campaign office of Professor John Evans Atta Mills, where hundreds of party supporters thronged to give moral support to the President on Thursday, those former power brokers were seen having a good time at the campaign launch. These included Mr Goosie Tanoh, Emelia Arthur of the Reformed Party, Bede Ziedeng of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), P.V Obeng, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, Tsutsu Opoku, Faustina Nelson and Sackey Ocran. In addition, many of the crème de la crème in the NDC were present at the function. They include Kwamena Ahwoi, Ama Benyiwa Doe, E.T. Mensah, Kwame Peprah, Doe Adjaho ,Sherry Ayittey, Baba Jamal, Kojo Bonsu, Betty Mould-Iddrisu, Ato Ahwoi and Eddie Annan (a former NDC presidential aspirant). Others were the Chief of Staff Victor Newman, Haruna Iddrisu, Yaw Boateng Gyan, Sofo Azorka (leader of the Azorka Boys), Alhaji Said Sinare, Allotey Jacobs, Harry Zakour (former CEO of Accra Hearts of Oak), Khalid Mamudu, Kweku Acquah, Hanna Bissue, Madam Cecilia Johnson who is a member of the Council of State, Okudzeto Ablakwa and Mr Danny Annan.
