A training programme to upgrade the professional skills, knowledge and competence of masseurs will begin on June 26.
The training, organised by the Ghana Football Association and the School of Allied Health Science of the University of Ghana, will run for 12 weeks.
This is the second phase of the training programme with the target group being masseurs of clubs and all other interested participants.
“This time the training programme is not limited to people who are already Masseurs with Ghana Football but anybody who wish to train as a Masseur and it is also not for only people in football,” said coordinator for the programme Dr. Prince Pambo.
“The students or interested persons can go to the department of physiotherapy, University of Ghana, Korle Bu teaching hospital for the entry forms. Last year we charged 1,500 Ghana cedis and it will be the same this year.
“This is one of the many ways to ensure we have capacity building and continuous professional education for our Masseurs so we want to encourage people who want to take this as a profession to participate in this programme.”
19 team masseurs graduated from the first training course held early this year at the University of Ghana, College of Health Sciences, Korle Bu, Accra.
