The Ghana Standards Board is calling for close collaboration with the FDB to enforce safety standards in the production of sachet water.
It follows research conducted by the Ghana Chemical Society which revealed that about 85% of sachet water produced does not meet the required standards and not good enough for consumption.
Head of Marketing and Public Relations at the Ghana Standards Board, Kofi Amponsah Bediako told Joy News the board alone cannot enforce the regulations.
He conceded there are minor differences between the Standards Board and the Food and Drugs Board on issues relating to food and water and hoped the seeming turf war will be bridged.
He said with an effective collaboration with all the stakeholders the bad nuts in the system will be fished out.
