Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV has charged both the playing body and the Technical team not to relent in their efforts to win this season's league title adding that winning trophies this season should be the concern of all.
The Board Chairman mentioned that it is a taboo for a big club like Hearts of Oak to go four seasons without winning the league trophy adding that " this must be the year we win it again to end that league drought," "For me it's unacceptable for us to go four seasons without the league trophy.
Indeed we managed to win the Presidents Cup, but what the Board needs is the league and the FA Cup respectively which is believer is very much achievable. Winning the title is certainly not beyond us," the Board Chairman mentioned.
He praised the team for their wonderful performance last season, especially the second round.
"Hearts can only get better from what we did last season especially during the second round, anything short of that will only mean that it was a fluke.
Apart from the defeat to Ash gold in the second round, no team was able to defeat us and I believe that if the league would have been based on only the performance of the second round, then we might as well call ourselves the league champions because we played better than every team in the second round.
"Our poor start to the league was also a factor which affected us dearly. I entreat you all to play this season’s games better than you did last term so that we will avoid the catch up scenario we found ourselves last season."
The Board Chairman also wished the entire team God's blessings and pleaded with players of the team to continue to work hard with better focus to make good names for themselves and the club.
