The Police in Tamale have mounted a search for a group of Fulani herdsmen who allegedly attacked some residents of Damango.
The residents who were mainly galamsey operators were reportedly robbed and manhandled by their attackers with some sustaining injuries.
The incident happened yesterday. The Police Public Relations Officer in Tamale, Chief Inspector Ebenezer Tetteh, told Joy News the suspects reportedly robbed their victims of huge sums of money although the exact amount is not known.
He said everything is being done to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Chief Inspector Tetteh, however condemned reprisal attacks on some Fulani herdsmen.
“The fact that a Fulani herdsman has attacked somebody and robbed somebody does not mean all Fulani herdsmen should be roped in and attacked in that manner,” he stated.
