The Tourism Ministry has begun talks with the National Security Council to end a three months impasse that has stalled construction work on a hotel project at the former race course.
Work on the Kempiski Hotel project behind the Accra International Conference Centre was halted by an order from the National Security Council.
Workers at the site on Tuesday protested the decision to halt the construction because it has left them jobless for the past two months.
Deputy Tourism Minister, Kobby Acheampong who received a petition from the workers said there is some misunderstanding that will first have to be resolved.
“The ministry had already started talking to the national security outfit about the need to do something about the current embargo that has been placed on the site,” he said.
Mr Acheampong would, however, not give details of the issues to be addressed by national security.
