A provision shop dealer, Mary Allah, has perished in an inferno that engulfed her residence in Adelakome, a suburb of Aflao in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region.
The incident that occurred at about midnight on Monday left many residents in shock, as attempts to rescue the deceased from the fire proved futile.
Some alleged that the tragic incident might have been executed by an assailant who succeeded this time after four attempts.
The brother of the deceased, Doe Allah, said they smelled mischief as they traced a substance suspected to be a petroleum product around the window and the door areas of the victim's room, "trapping her inside."

"They poured petrol on the door, which was burning outside but not inside. This is the fifth time my sister's property has been set ablaze," he recounts.
The Assembly Member for Avoeme West Electoral Area, Faustina Kwawu, expressed dismay at the unfortunate incident, believing the police would help unravel the misery behind it.
" I'm short of words because we did not expect this to reach this level. I believe that with the help of the police, the suspects will be arrested", she said.

She added that due to the recurrence of the bizarre incident, a Community Watch Dog would be set up to prevent further crimes in the electoral area.
In June 2025, the deceased called for security in the area after her provision shop was broken into, set ablaze, and an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at slot pulsa the Ketu South Municipal Hospital mortuary as the Aflao Police Command begins a full-scale investigation.
