One of Ghana’s most promising stand up comedians, Oh Joo, is about to make a statement with his second comedy special dubbed ‘Turd Talks.’
The show slated for April 19, 2025 will be held at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra.
He told Joy Entertainment that 'Turd Talks' is a concept he conceived two years ago. He said the 'Turd Talks' idea was inspired by the original programme TED TALKS which he mostly enjoys watching.
“I watched one episode which starred the comedian Andrew Schultz and that was when the idea struck me that “why don’t I do a standup comedy show like TED TALKS where comedians will pick a topic, and talk their mind but this time they will perform their jokes with PowerPoint slides,” he noted.
Turd Talks will explore themes such as technology, life stories and tragedy.
Some comedians to perform are Jeneral Ntatia, Lekzy DeComic, Khemikal, Jeffery Nortey, and Ebenezer Dwomoh. Others are Ranzy, Pjay, Jerry and Kwame Obed.
Turd Talks by Oh Joo will be hosted by versatile comedian Clemento Suarez.
In 2023, Oh Joo hosted his first comedy special dubbed 'Timid and Crazy.'
Other comedy shows he has performed at are: African No Filter Comedy Lab (Kenya), Cancel Culture with Basketmouth, Popular But broke (by OB Amponsah), Romanus Incomplete, Rotary Charity Show, Kwahu Easter comedy, CanPain Message (by Lekzy DeComic) and Laughline Comedy Show.
Others are Kumasi Comedy Show, Sunyani comedy Show, Jokes , Scrubs and Scriptures (Sunyani), Too Cute to be Mute, I’m Not Fooling, The New False, Ghanaian by Card, The Hahaha Show, Lyrics and Laughs, Xtreme Comedy, Luv N Laughs, OB Live at Bukom Boxing Arena, This is Ataamle, and Comedy Express.
According to Oh Joo, proceeds from the ticket sales from 'Turd Talks' will be donated to Ghana Autism Care.
