Comedian Kwame Obed delivered a memorable debut with his first comedy special, “At An Early Age”, staged at 2927 Terema Street in Accra on 14th November 2025.
The event attracted a lively audience of fans, creatives and industry figures who turned up to witness a rising talent make a strong statement in Ghana’s comedy space.
The night featured sets from Smile, Kwaku Forty, Kwame Ansah, Lekzy DeComic, Real NKB, Okokobioko, Ebenezer Dwomoh, Kojo Pjay, Ranzy Ray and Jeneral Ntatia. Enzyme added a musical performance that lifted the energy and rounded off the entertainment experience.
Papayaw Ataamle hosted the show with his usual charm and smooth transitions, keeping the audience engaged and maintaining the flow of the programme.
The event was notable for the risks the team embraced and executed well. This was Kwame Obed’s first comedy special, scheduled on a Friday, one of the busiest nights for entertainment. He also became the first comedian in Ghana to publicly release a comedy set list ahead of his show, a move that raised expectations and demanded discipline, which he displayed throughout his performance.
A further challenge was the venue, which was not widely known. The team guided and directed every attendee successfully, proving that careful planning can overcome logistical concerns. Against expectations, the night ran smoothly and demonstrated that well calculated risks can produce excellent results.
The show began at 7:30 PM and ended at 10:47 PM, earning praise for punctuality and professional coordination. Performers, production flow and audience engagement all worked in sync.
Behind the scenes, event manager Caleb Yeslord, supported by MC Prince and a committed production crew, ensured strong execution. Their attention to lighting, sound, stage setup, audience coordination and backstage management was clear throughout.
Kwame Obed’s debut did more than entertain. It showcased creativity, confidence and fresh thinking in Ghana’s comedy industry.
By taking bold steps, setting new benchmarks and delivering a polished performance, he has positioned himself as one of the most promising comedians to watch.
