Commercial bank, UMB on Wednesday engaged Chinese businesses in Ghana as well as those that trade in China on financial products available for their operations.
Speaking to Joy Business after the bank's Chinese Business Forum, Managing Director of UMB, John Awuah, said the growing economic muscle of China makes it difficult not to factor them in the bank’s business growth.
He revealed that the bank is currently working to establish a China desk at the bank.
The Chinese ambassador to Ghana noted that the increasing trade volumes between Ghana and China offers an opportunity for economic ties to be enhanced.
The growing number of Chinese businesses in Ghana and trade between the two countries is putting pressure on various financial institutions to come up with innovative products to cater for them.
