Beneficiaries of Vodafone Ghana’s Healthline TV Program have been sharing testimonies with residents in Kumasi.
Thirteen year-old Bismark Nyantakyi suffered from a condition that prohibited the normal function of his digestive system for several months until Vodafone intervened and paid of his hospital bills. His health is restored and he is now back to school.
Four year old Abdul Malik also drunk caustic soda accidentally and sustained severe injuries in his throat which resulted in difficulty with swallowing.
Vodafone paid for the cost of his surgery and treatment and financially supported him to return to school.
The telecom company held a public screening of the TV program in the Ashanti regional capital to further engage with communities on their health as well as demonstrate the company’s passion and commitment to supporting healthcare delivery in the country.
The healthline program engages medical specialists who provide information to Ghanaians on various subjects.
The panel of doctors has educated Ghanaians on various health issues such as heart conditions, eye care, infectious disease, and cancer.
According to officials of Vodafone Ghana, the healthline TV program has impacted and transformed the lives of millions of Ghanaians by empowering them with health information.
As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, the company plans to start airing the radio edition of the healthline show next month.
The program will mainly focus on busting myths and certain practices that have either helped or hurt lives.
