Ghana star Kwadwo Asamoah scored a sensational first-half screamer to hand Juventus a slender 1-0 win over Fiorentina in the Italian Serie A on Sunday afternoon.
The 25-year-old won the game for Antonio Conte’s men at the Juventus Arena in the 42nd minute when he artfully employed a measure of skill inside the Fiorentina box before powering home a beautiful drive.
Asamoah’s striker has now ensured The Old Ladies open a 14 point lead at the top of the table.
With Carlos Tevez, Arturo Vidal and Fernando Llorente all firing blank in the game, Asamoah carried the game on his shoulders and scored the match-winner three minutes before half-time for Juve.
The Black Stars midfielder confidently dashed into the box with four defenders around him after collecting a Girgio Chiellini pass and wonderfully flicked the ball with a back-heel to dislodge all four defence men before aiming for the top root corner of the net with Fiorentina keeper Neto left watching in admiration as the ball rifled through his net.
Asamoah has hit a rich vein of form for Juventus since the start of the season and has scored important goals (three in the league) to aid their title campaign.
