The 2012 flag bearer of the Progressive Peoples Party, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has tasked president Mahama to stop begging for money.
Dr Nduom says Ghana has enough God-given resources from which the president can rely on.
In his latest post on his personal Facebook page, where he periodically engages Ghanaians, the politician observed that
“With all the natural resources we are blessed with, why are we where we are - a nation ridden with debt, disgraced by corruption in high places and held down by illiteracy and poverty?”
Dr Nduom wondered why president Mahama will request for World Bank support for a SADA project when issues of corruption still hasn’t been dealt with.
“Why did President Mahama ask the World Bank President Kim to fund a SADA poverty reduction project given all the controversies surrounding SADA and recent allegations of waste of public funds?” he asked.
The PPP leader feared Ghana could be thrown into what he calls the “Matthew Effect”, where the little resources we have would be taken away from us because we failed to multiply it.
We must avoid the 'Matthew Effect' in Ghana
I don't understand this beggar, cup in hand leadership mentality. Why is it that every opportunity we get, we ask someone else to give us money to fund our development projects? Question: why did President Mahama ask the World Bank President Kim to fund a SADA poverty reduction project given all the controversies surrounding SADA and recent allegations of waste of public funds?
With all the God-given resources we are blessed with, why are we where we are - a nation ridden with debt, disgraced by corruption in high places and held down by illiteracy and poverty?
Entrepreneurial, incorruptible leadership is needed. Or else, we get perpetually caught in the Matthew Effect where the resources we have are continuously taken away from us.

"For whoever has will be given more, and they will have abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them."
â—„ Luke 8:18 â–º
"Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them."
â—„ John 15:2 â–º
"He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful."
