Vice President of Inter Allies, Delali Senaye, says the club’s decision to send its youth team to Europe was aimed at giving the players much-needed exposure.
The team’s participation in international competitions marked the first time since 2008 that Inter Allies had travelled to Europe for such an opportunity.
Mr. Senaye explained that the trip was designed to broaden the players’ horizons and support their development both on and off the pitch.
“This was the first time since 2008 that Inter Allies took a team to Europe for such opportunities. We wanted to expose the boys to international competition and help them grow both on and off the field,” he said.
He congratulated the players on their performance during the trip and advised them to balance their sporting ambitions with academics.
"We are proud of their performance, but we also want them to return to school and focus on their studies. Education must go hand in hand with their football development,” he noted.
Mr. Senaye also extended his appreciation to Decathlon Ghana for their support and to the Embassy of Norway for facilitating visas despite the late notice. He said the assistance from both institutions was crucial in making the trip possible.
Looking ahead, the Vice President assured that the initiative would not be a one-off.
“We are committed to giving our players opportunities to grow, and we intend to make this an annual programme so more of our talents can benefit,” he said.
