The final of the second edition of the Cadbury Richoco 'Mornings In Ghana' national essay competition ended on a high note, with Cadbury Ghana saying it will continue to give back to society through impactful programmes.

The competition which attracted over 3,402 entries from various schools was to address the age-long negative effects of illegal mining and threats posed by these activities on agricultural lands, particularly that of Cocoa.

The competition was targeted at the Upper Primary, Junior High School and Senior High School students living in Ghana.

According to the Brands Manager for Cadbury Ghana Limited, Michael Boateng, the competition is a corporate social responsibility to give back to the community.

He further entreated consumers to patronise their products

"This is our own way of rewarding our consumers for patronising our products. We are pushing government agenda on education to allow these kids the opportunity to express themselves when it comes to social issues", he said.

"We urged our consumers to continue patronising our products and expect a lot more programmes from us”, he added

Carol Adadevoh of the St Peter's Mission School won the Upper Primary contest, whiles Maame Abena Ohenewaa Gyasi of the Morning Star Academy was crowned winner of the Junior High School category.

Addo Laeseh of the Presbyterian Boys Secondary School, Legon won the Senior High School Category.

Launched in 1992, Cadbury Richoco is made using only the finest Ghanaian cocoa and has since been a part of the breakfast culture in most homes, providing the needed nutritional benefit of the family.
